THE WHITE HOUSE COMMISSION ON COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE (CAM)

An Open Letter to President Bush

Dear Mr. President

On March 7th 2000 your predecessor, President Clinton signed executive order 13147 ordering the formation of this esteemed commission. On March 7th 2002 the commission will be delivering its report to you and you will get to make a very exciting and important decision on the direction that healthcare shall take in our Great country over the next 100 years.

The direction given the commission and which was charged with addressing is as follows:

• Research on CAM practices and products
• Delivery of and public access to CAM services
• Dissemination of reliable information on CAM to healthcare providers and The general public
• Appropriate licensing, education, and training of CAM health care Practitioners

I had the privilege of addressing the commission at its December 2000 San Francisco session in my two official and one personal capacity. One, in my part time public role as President of The Arizona Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners I delivered a Proclamation of support for the commissions work from Arizona Governor Jane D Hull. Two in my other part time position as USA Medical Director for Heel Inc I gave support for more effective and less expensive Homotoxicology remedies to bring down the cost of illness and third in my main role as a private Practitioner of Homeopathic Family Medicine I stressed how valuable CAM was to treating our patients.

Mr. President
Please recognize that this decision has many implications both as related to the Health of Americans and to the Economy of America.

Please recognize that more than half of all Americans already realize that CAM is more helpful in keeping them healthy than the current system of “Traditional Medicine”. We have realized that there are better answers than Antibiotics, Cortisone products and Mind changing Tranquilizers and Anti-Depressants for instance.

Chronic viral infections can be treated with Herbs, Vitamins, Pleomorphic products and Homeopathy. Inflammatory Problems and Chronic Degenerative Disease can be treated with Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Homotoxicology with minimal side effects. Emotional problems can also be dealt with Homeopathy and innovative Color and Sound therapies that have powerful effects without the nastiness of Drugs that cause multiple side effects such as hypertension and loss of sexual desire.

Not only does CAM work MORE EFFECTIVELY its less expensive! There are Oral therapies and outpatient procedures that cost several hundred dollars that can avoid hospital stays that cost several thousands. There are Homeopathic Remedies that cost as little as $10 that replace drug therapies that can cost as much as $150.

The Federal Government will spend close to 1.2 Trillion Dollars next year on all of its healthcare programs including Medicare and Medicaid. It has conservatively been estimated that a serious shift from the Traditional System to a CAM allowed system could eventually save as much as 300-400 Billion dollars ANNUALLY. Think of the Legacy that you could leave for future Generations with Tax Cuts, Budget Surpluses and real elimination of the National Debt with such a real savings.

If you say that you favor the Commission Report in March 2002 and allow American Free Market initiatives to let the healthcare system follow the will of the people, than it will happen AND WITHOUT NEED FOR MORE GOVERNMENT spending.

We know that you have been pre-occupied with the events related to Sept 11th and we applaud your great efforts. However this report and how you respond to it will be one of the biggest things that you will do during your Presidency. Please give it your solid attention.
